Our Workshops

Please wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting muddy (they are washable). All supplies are provided. You may wish to bring a notebook for jotting down ideas and inspiration. Most importantly, bring an open mind.  

Yes!  During your workshop you will  create a unique clay keepsake.  You will leave it with us so it can go through the drying and firing process.  Once it is out of the kiln, we will contact you to pick it up (approx. 3-4 weeks).   

We will notify you by email when your clay creation is ready for pick up, usually 3-4 weeks 

Yes, we would love to host your next private event! We work with many non-profits and corporations in offering a unique team-building experience.  If your staff are stressed, tired, disconnected, and you are looking for a way to reconnect your team members, this is the perfect workshop.  We also love hosting birthday parties or any special occasion.   

earthen vessels differs from Hintonburg Pottery in the follow ways:

1. OUR FOCUS: At Hintonburg Pottery, our classes are focused on the final product where you learn the techniques to make a mug or a teapot.  At earthen vessels, we are focused on the process.  Many of our clients at Hintonburg Pottery told us that they came to explore clay to recover from illness or injuries.  They found themselves more calm, centered, and grounded through clay.  So, we decided to open a studio, allowing this more gentle, mindful connection with clay.  At earthen vessels, we encourage you to allow the clay to mold you instead of you molding the clay.
2. STUDIO AMBIENCE:  The earthen vessels studio is located on a quiet street with no storefront.  During a workshop, the only people in the studio are the participants and the facilitator to allow for privacy and confidentiality. 
3. OUR FACILITATORS: are skilled professionals.  They posess a unique blend of empathy, communication skills, and emotional intelligence. They have a natural ability to create a safe and supportive environment where participants feel comfortable sharing their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.  Our facilitators are not therapists.  The facilitators role is to guide the group through an experience, allowing the participants to discover insights and growth organically.  At earthen vessels, our facilitators are not expert potters like they are at Hintonburg Pottery.  They are skilled at clay work with a focus on how to help you connect with the clay in a meaningful way.
